This is extracted from chitin in crab, crawfish, shrimp shell, by deacetylating. In 1811, Braconnot, French natural historian, discovered firstly unknown element in mushroom, that is, chitin.

After that, Ruge, chemist got new material by deacetylating chitin in 1859, and Hupe Zaira, scientist named this as chitosan in1894.

Its feature activates decrepit cells, suppresses aging, strengthens immunity, and prevents disease. Also, it controls biorhythm in addition to function of activating natural healing ability of body.

Chitosan is the natural matter extracted from crab or shrimp, etc. and is the unique one having a positively charged ion even in dissolution in the ecological system of Earth. It has been recognized as environmental-friendly and marvelous matter equipped with many functions: bioactivity, improvement in immune system, etc., and has been used in many application fields. Besides, it has been broadly utilized even in agricultural field. The global trend of agricultural technology development has focused on cultivation techniques of environmental-friendly and pollution-free farming products, which are harmless to the human body and do not pollute the environment. Also, it is a necessary step to hand over our planet Earth without pollution to our descendants.

Currently, the government of South Korea, in accordance with such a trend, has implemented legal regulations to encourage the cultivation of environmental-friendly agricultural products all over the nation, and acknowledged the eco-friendly effect of chitosan to appoint it as the production matter of environmental-friendly farming products on Dec. 21st in 2001.
